Things to do Exploring Australia

Location

Granite Gorge Nature Park and Rock Wallabies

What it is?

A nature park full of beauty, animals and relaxation

What it offers?

Granite Gorge Nature Park offers pet friendly camping, where you can hand feed Mareeba Rock Wallabies, swim in the creek weir, see a variety of animals up close and personal including peacocks, lizards, snakes, birds, a pony, owls and a pig.

Wheelchair Access?

May require assistance. There are stairs down into the gorge, then the area is uneven rock.

What we did?

We walked through the section with all the animals. Lizards, snakes, birds.

Next, we wandered the Granite Gorge Nature Park, fed the rock wallabies, and walked down to see the fish and turtles.

Exploration of the surrounding area was bigger than we had anticipated. If you really want to check out this area, a lot more than an afternoon is required.

A full weekend would have been nice here, had we known, we would have taken our camper and stayed the night in the camping area.

Highlight?

The pig.

Would I do it again?

Yes, i would love to spend an entire weekend here exploring the area more intensely.
