Things to do Exploring Australia

Location

NORTHERN BEACHES

What it is?

The beaches to the north of Cairns includes: Machans Beach; Holloways Beach; Yorkeys Knob; Trinity Beach; Clifton Beach; and Palm Cove

What it offers?

Palm Cove is most popular with tourists and has some pretty expensive accommodation.

It is an easy walk from Palm Cove down to Clifton Beach, i remember doing that walk with a pram many times when my youngest was a baby.

There is a Coles at Clifton Beach and the nearest shopping centre is Smithfields.

Yorkeys Knob has a Yacht Club.

The drive from Cairns Airport to Palm Cove is about 25-30 minutes.
There is a stinger net and lifeguards at Palm Cove for those that like ocean swimming.

Wheelchair Access?

May require assistance.

What we did?

Checked out the beautiful Melaleuca trees at Palm Cove.

We purchased a few things off marketplace from people who lived at Clifton Beach, so we drove around that area a few times.

Highlight?

How peaceful the smaller beaches are compared to Cairns and Palm Cove.

Would I do it again?

I love Cairns and i will definitely be doing most things again.
