Things to do Exploring Australia

Location

LAKE BARRINE

What it is?

A beautiful crater lake with a teahouse and boat cruise around the lake.
Lake Barrine is part of the Crater Lakes National Park.

What it offers?

A 5km walking track around the lake. The Qld Government Parks website states that you can swim there, but i think i would rather swim at Lake Eacham as it appeared easier to get in and out.

Wheelchair Access?

May require assistance.

Flushable disabled accessible toilets available at the teahouse.

What we did?

We wondered around the closed site (covid restrictions) and looked at the water and the animals swimming in the water imaging what it would be like to be on the boat floating along. We then walked down the track a little and found the two giant trees, the twins. The next time we were driving past, we drove into the area again, but unfortunately it was still closed.

Highlight?

Being a tree lover, the two beautiful Kauri Trees.

Would I do it again?

Yes, I really wanted to have a Devonshire Tea and go on the boat, unfortunately with covid being in full swing, none of this was happening.
