In the 2021 census there were 677 people living in Goomeri. The town is surrounded by dairy farms and beef cattle grazing.

What we did?
We stopped and checked out the Big Pumpkin; the Historic Windmill; the information centre; the bakery where we grabbed a pie (really big juicy pieces of meat that feel apart in your mouth); the Memorial Clock commemorating fallen soldiers; the Hall of Memory- we were lucky to have been checking it out when a caretaker was leaving and he allowed us inside to have a look (see pictures). East of Goomeri is Kinbombi Falls, a deep gorge flanked by imposing cliffs, there are approx. 200 step if you want to walk to the bottom, otherwise there is a lookout at track 2 with minimal steps.
