You need to hike up a hill to get to the waterfall and a decent spot, but it is totally worth it. Follow Stoney Creek Road to the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/9EdxeXSZwPhvBYP7A\">carpark<\/a> at the end and start walking up the hill. If you get to a fallen log that you need to walk over, look down and that is where the waterfall is. It is a great spot for a swim. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Caravonica<\/strong> has the <strong>Barron Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station<\/strong> at the end of Barron Gorge Road. This is also a photo location for the Barron Gorge. About 1\/3 of the way along that road you will see the turnoff for <strong>Lake Placid<\/strong>. Take yourself a picnic lunch and relax, this area is stunning. This is also the location where the white water rafting concludes, so depending upon your timing, you might be able to watch them all come in.This is on our list for when we return to the area.\u00a0<\/p><p>The road out to <strong>Crystal Cascades<\/strong> and Fairy Falls is also at <strong>Kumerunga<\/strong>. Follow the Redlynch Intake road until the end and then grab your walking shoes as you need to walk up the path to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/kUACyXsgFeJ6YCjp8\">the falls<\/a>. The path is an easy walk and is wheelchair accessible. There are however, no facilities out there. The path to the left of the carpark is the track to <strong>Fairy Falls<\/strong>. be careful as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthdirect.gov.au\/stinging-plants\">stinging plant<\/a> has been found along this path and you do not want to be stung by it.\u00a0<\/p><p><b>Freshwater<\/b> is where the station is for you get the Scenic Train to Kuranda.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-44d3edb2 e-flex day. Fairy Falls was magical, especially as it was a really hot day and the water was so refreshing and cool.\u00a0<br \/><strong>Lake Placid<\/strong> is a beautiful location to relax and water life go by. We took a pizza out and sat here and ate dinner. It was really lovely. The second time we went out there was the white water rafting company bringing in their tour. They all had beautiful big smiles on their face and it cemented in my brain that i wanted to do it.\u00a0<\/p><p>The <strong>Barron Gorge<\/strong> hydroelectric power station was interesting to have a look at, as was the area surrounding this location. Surprise Falls is off to the left as you walk up.\u00a0<\/p><p>We went to the pub in <strong>Redlynch<\/strong> for dinner one night, the food was good but the section where we sat was outside and right next to the smokers. The blinds were down and there was no ventilation or fresh air. It was disgusting and we were breathing in second hand smoke and we stunk. Yes, we could have moved inside, and we actually did to eat, but we were there as part of a large group to socialise for an occasion. Definitely one place we will not return to.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Stoney Creek<\/strong> is fantastic. You have to walk up a bit of a hill to get to the good spots, but it is totally worth it. We went here a few times and enjoyed it every time.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Goomboora Park<\/strong> has an amazing area for kids to run and play. There is a creek you can sit in to cool off and picnic tables. There were so many families and dogs.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
