The beach here is not swimmable, there is mud and crocodiles. The esplanade offers a lovely area for family relaxation including: grassed areas; picnic tables and BBQs; art work to stroll along and view; across the road are the shops and food outlets; plenty of accommodation overlooking the foreshore; The Pier shopping centre is not what it used to be, but it is still there and worth a look.
